Description
Braceby Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse with two phases from the 17th century, later dated 1653, and includes 19th-century additions. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins, topped by a pantile roof featuring stone coped gables and moulded stacks, including one ridge stack. The building has a T-plan layout with a staircase block at the rear and is two stories high with a garret, presenting a six-bay facade with a plinth.
The off-centre plain wooden door has a small glazed opening above it, framed by a low four-centred arched head and a flat hood mould with label stops. Above the door is a datestone inscribed "LT 1653". To the left of the door are four three-light mullioned windows, while to the right is a single four-light mullioned window. The first floor features six three-light mullioned windows, all adorned with moulded cornices and iron casements. Between the third and fourth bays, a 14th-century stone finial has been incorporated into the wall. The 19th-century rear extension contains several reused mullioned windows, and the staircase block also features mullioned windows. Inside, there is a 17th-century stone fireplace with a four-centred arch and a moulded surround.
