Description

Sessions House is a substantial stone building dating from 1843, designed by Charles Kirk. The building is constructed in the style of a castle, featuring two crenellated side towers and a recessed central two-story section. The central section has three bays divided by buttresses and is topped with heraldic beast finials. It contains three windows between the buttresses, each with Perpendicular tracery, and a central four-centred doorway. Royal Arms are displayed on the crenellated parapet. The side towers are three-stories high and incorporate oriels to the first floor, along with four-centred doorways and carved spandrels. A clock is located in the left tower. The side elevation is constructed of pale brick. The building forms a group with the Police Station, and nearby buildings at Nos 32 and 33 The Crescent.
