Description
39 New Road is an early 20th-century building designed in a modified Jacobean style. It is two storeys high, constructed of ashlar stone, and features a slate roof with a ridge tile and a pierced parapet adorned with finials. The building has a symmetrical layout that curves to fit the site, with oriel windows at each end topped by octagonal turret roofs that have parapets and leaded domes with finials.
On the first floor, there are six paired windows and a central oriel window with a carved base beneath a stone turret. This central oriel is oval in section and features a lion weathervane and a round window. The ground floor includes two large windows and two narrow lights, with two round windows positioned above them, flanking the main doorway. There is an additional doorway to the left and one window. A band between the storeys displays the legend 'Land Agents S & G Kingston Surveyors'. The building also has the dates 1828 and 1907 inscribed on it.
39 New Road is part of a visual group with Cavendish House, located opposite a building of local interest, and includes No 24 Hall Place.
