Description
The Red Lion Hotel is an early 19th-century building located on the north side of the Market Place. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed in painted stucco, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring stacks at the gable ends and an eaves cornice supported by paired modillions. The façade includes four windows on the top storey, which are fitted with shutters and glazing bars. The first floor has four windows set in reeded reveals adorned with paterae, also featuring glazing bars and moulded cills. A band runs above the first-floor windows. The ground floor is designed with channeled rustication, complete with a plinth and two canted bays. A central projecting porch with a gable supported by piers is present, and a cornice and label above the central two windows extend downwards to meet the band between the ground and first floors. The Red Lion Hotel and No 15 form a group.
