Description
Garnsgate House and the adjoining barn date from the late 18th century. The house is built of red brick and has a concrete tile roof with two gable stacks and stone coped gables. It is two storeys tall and consists of three bays. The central doorway features a panelled door with a reveal and a small hood. On either side of the doorway are single plain sash windows, with three similar sashes above; the central sash on the upper floor is smaller, and all windows are set under segmental arches.
Attached to the right of the house is the early 19th-century barn, which has undergone some 20th-century alterations. This barn is also made of red brick but has a corrugated iron roof. It is two storeys high and has four bays. To the right, there is a doorway with a plank door, along with a single segmental arched shuttered opening. There is a large doorway with plank double doors, and on the far right, a single segmental arched shuttered opening. Above these, there are two segmental arched shuttered openings, with a large 20th-century doorway with a plank door to the right and another single segmental arched shuttered opening on the far right.
