Description
Peregrine's Rest is a house built in 1767, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with two gable stacks from the 20th century. The gables are coped with tiles, and the building has moulded brick eaves, except for the single central bay. There is a rendered plinth at the base. The house has two storeys plus an attic and consists of three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting.
The central doorway has a panelled and glazed door, topped with a glazing bar overlight. On either side of the door are single tripartite casements. Above, there are two similar casements with a single central two-light casement. All openings are set under deep segmental arches, featuring flush wedge brick lintels with keystones. The attic includes three gabled dormers, each fitted with a single plain sash window. On the left gable, there is an ashlar plaque dated 1767, inscribed with "P.B."
