Description
Seadike Mill is a tower windmill built in 1836 for Mr. Rubbins. It is constructed of partially tarred red brick and features a moulded eaves band. The mill is circular and consists of seven storeys. The west side has a doorway with panelled double doors, which has a keystone inscribed 'C.I.R. 1836'. Above this doorway is a single window opening, along with another doorway that has a plank door, and four window openings arranged one above the other. The north and east sides each have six window openings stacked vertically, with a doorway located on the second floor. The south side has seven window openings arranged similarly. All openings have segmental heads and ashlar keystones. Inside, most of the milling machinery is reported to be intact, including two pairs of French stones and two pairs of grey stones, with a shoot that goes down to the ground floor. Ladders inside the mill are noted to be insecure.
