Description
The Lodge is a lodge built between 1851 and 1852 by Thomas Parry. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features slate roofs with ashlar coped gables. The building has quoins and a chamfered plinth with moulded eaves, and it is designed in a cross plan with two tall ashlar stacks.
The south front has a slightly projecting central bay that includes a single glazing bar sash window with a moulded ashlar surround and a raised keystone, which is topped by a pediment. To the right of this bay is another single glazing bar sash window, and to the left is a four-panel door, both of which have moulded ashlar surrounds with raised keystones. All openings are segment headed. The street front features similar window arrangements. The Lodge was built as part of St John's Hospital.
