Description

1 and 2 Oakleigh are a pair of former staff houses, later used as offices, dating to 1907. They were constructed in an Italianate style. The buildings are built from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and have slate hipped roofs, featuring five wall stacks. Details include raised quoins, ground and first floor cill bands, and dentilated eaves. The north front has four bays. A pair of round-headed doorways are centrally positioned, each with ashlar surrounds and large console keystones. To either side of the doorways are single tripartite plain sash windows, set within plain ashlar surrounds, with colonnettes between the windows. Above the ground floor, four plain sashes are also set in plain ashlar surrounds. The buildings are included on the heritage list for their group value, as part of the wider St John's Hospital complex.
