Description
This is a table tomb located in St Lawrence Churchyard, dating from 1694. It is made of ashlar and features a flat-topped rectangular shape dedicated to Henry Stone. The corners of the tomb are decorated with acanthus leaf motifs, and there is an inscription on one side that reads, "The Governors of Christs Hospital in London have caused this Tomb to be erected in Memory of their Munificent Benefactor HENRY STONE Esq late deceased ANNO 1694." The tomb is surrounded by 19th-century wrought iron railings and is situated 50 yards south of the church porch.
