Description

The Post Office is an early 19th-century building, originally a house, located on Middle Street in Potterhanworth. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and painted brick dressings, and has a slate roof with a single white brick ridge stack. The building presents a gable end to the street, featuring barge boarding. A central doorway is now fitted with a 20th-century door and rectangular overlight. Either side of the doorway are single, two-light chamfered concave mullioned casements, with two similar windows above; all openings are topped with painted brick dripmoulds. The side elevation includes a block doorway and two glazing bar sashes.
