Description
Old Manor Farm is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in 1639, the mid-18th century, and the 20th century. The lower part of the building is constructed from limestone ashlar, while the upper part features coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a pantiled roof with raised stone coped gables and a single ashlar gable stack that has a moulded top and base.
The front of the house is irregular with three bays and two storeys plus a garret, featuring a chamfered plinth. On the left side, there is a reset single top-hung casement window with a four-centred arched head and sunk spandrels. On the right, there is a two-light glazing bar casement with a concrete lintel. The first floor has a similar window, and to the left, there is a two-light mullioned window with four-centred arched heads and sunk spandrels. The right gable contains a blocked three-light window that matches the others. There is a 20th-century extension on the left that is not included in this listing.
Inside, the ground floor features a fine pointed and deeply chamfered fire surround and a deeply chamfered ceiling girder. The upper floor has mid-18th century raised and fielded panelled doors, and the roof is made of oak clasped purlins with windbraces and reused principals. A rectangular datestone from 1639 is located on what was originally an external wall. This building is included for its group value only.
