Description

No. 41 is a house located on London Road, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features pantiled roofs, along with two red brick gable stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two stories tall with a three-bay front. The eaves course is chamfered ashlar, and the central entrance consists of a six-panelled door flanked by plain sash windows. The first floor also has three similar windows, and all openings are topped with segmental ashlar heads. At the rear, there is a yellow brick porch that bears the Whichcote cypher. This house was formerly the residence of the headmaster.
