Description
Mere Hall Farmhouse is an early 19th-century manor house constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. It features a slate hipped roof with white brick stacks and deep overhanging eaves. The building is two stories high and has three bays. The central doorway is framed by a wooden gabled porch and a 20th-century door. On either side of the doorway are single splayed bay windows with glazing bar sashes. Above, there are three glazing bar sashes, each with ashlar lintels. There is an earlier wing at the rear of the house. This site was originally home to a medieval hospital established by the Knights Hospitallers around 1240.
