Description
These are three houses located at 4, 5, and 5A Minster Yard, dating from the 17th century. They were remodeled and refronted around 1820, with further alterations made around 1870 and in 1957. The buildings are constructed of stone and brick, featuring a stucco front and a plain tile roof with a single ridge, gable, and rear wall stacks. There is a rendered plinth and a low coped parapet.
The front elevation has a central glazing bar sash window flanked by single part-glazed panelled doors with moulded wood surrounds. To the sides, there are single glazing bar sashes, and to the right, a recessed door with an overlight. Above this, to the left, are two glazing bar sashes, and to the right, a square wooden oriel window flanked by smaller similar windows, all featuring 2-light casements. Above again, there are three segment-headed dormers with glazing bar sashes.
The interior has not been inspected. These houses were formerly owned by the Poor Clerks.
