Description
The summerhouse, located 70 metres east of No. 4 (Greestone House), dates from around 1860. It is constructed from brick and dressed stone, incorporating carved stone fragments from the 11th and 12th centuries. The building features a concrete slab roof, a chamfered plinth, a string course adorned with masks and gargoyles, and a crenellated parapet. It is a single-storey, single-bay structure.
The central round-headed doorway is decorated with zigzag patterns and has a hoodmould supported by single shafts. There are round-headed openings on either side of the doorway, and above it, a crosslet and a tablet with a Latin inscription can be found. Each end of the building also contains a round-headed opening.
Inside, the openings have replica 11th-century shafts and heads. There is a niche with fleurons around the head and two mask stops.
