Description
The Blue Bell Inn is a public house dating from the early 17th century, with 19th and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of mud and stud, partly underbuilt in painted brick, and features a steeply pitched pantile roof, which may originally have been thatched, along with a single axial brick stack. The building has a lobby entry plan and is one storey plus attics, presenting a six-bay front. The entrance consists of off-centre planked double doors, with a single door to the left and three 20th-century glazing bar lights to the right, followed by another planked door. In the roof, there is a single raking dormer with a 20th-century light and rendered cheeks. Inside, the inn retains jowelled posts, straight braces, a wall plate, a mid rail, and chamfered beams.
