Description
Grange Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1700, which incorporates elements from the 15th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built of red brick with ashlar quoins and a plinth, topped with a slate roof featuring raised and tumbled brick coped gables and two brick gable stacks. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with a five-bay front that includes a first-floor band and corbelled eaves.
The central entrance features a six-panel door with a plain overlight, sheltered by a 20th-century flat hood supported by wooden brackets. This door is flanked by pairs of glazing bar windows with cambered brick arched heads. On the first floor, there are four two-light casements, and to the right, there is a blocked opening that contains a reset 15th-century panel with a cusped surround and a shield. The carved stones from the 15th century are also reused as kneelers. Additionally, two brick bands extend across the gable walls, and there is an outshut at the rear.
