Description

The total submersion font, located approximately 23 meters east of the chapel, dates from around 1701, with late 19th century and 20th century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and red tiles. Six 18th century brick steps gently descend from the west into a rectangular tank that measures approximately 6 meters long and 3 meters wide. The tank is lined with tiles from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries and features a brick-coped surround. This font is noted to be one of only two exterior total submersion fonts in the country.
