Description
The Baptist Chapel, built in 1701, is a now redundant building made of red brick with a pantile roof featuring recessed gables, a flat band at the eaves, and a single gable stack on the east side. It is a single-storey structure with a two-storey east gallery. The doorway on the east side has a segmental head and a panel door. On the south side, there are two glazing bar sashes to the right, a blocked doorway to the left, and another glazing bar sash beyond. The west end has two glazing bar sashes and a small rectangular shuttered opening above. The north side features two glazing bar sashes to the right, a blocked doorway to the left, and a glazing bar sash beyond. All openings have segmental heads.
Inside, there is a panelled west gallery with a central fielded panelled door and a small rectangular window to the left. There is also a small room under the gallery on the south side, which contains a small fireplace with a segmental head. The interior features painted pine benches from the 18th century that are piled up, as well as a dismantled panelled pulpit. The entire structure is supported both inside and out by long wooden struts.
