Description
Benniworth House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations around 1800 and some changes in the 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered, and features a hipped pantile roof with decorated eaves on the return walls. It has two hip stacks and a single ridge and gable stacks.
The east front, which is from around 1800, is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It has a central doorway with an open pediment, a traceried fanlight, and a doorcase that includes fielded panelling, richly carved acanthus capitals, and a deeply set panelled door. The doorway is flanked by single glazing bar sashes, with three glazing bar sashes above, the one over the door being narrower.
At the rear, there is a 17th-century range that has been encased in 20th-century brick. Additionally, there is a brick cellar featuring a barred vault from around 1800.
