Description
The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage, now a house, built in 1816 and altered and enlarged in 1830 by W. Coulam, a surveyor and builder from Louth. The building is constructed of red brick with painted stucco dressings and features a concrete tiled roof with a coped gable, a stack, and a hipped left-hand end. It has an L-plan layout and is two storeys high with a three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a traceried overlight, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. The doorcase is adorned with fluted pilasters and a dentillated hood. On the first floor, there are three similar windows. All windows are topped with splayed rusticated stucco lintels that have fluted keyblocks. The original house underwent substantial alterations, as indicated in the plans archived in Lincoln.
