Description

Garden Colony is a cottage dating from around 1700, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of mud and stud, with a brick and rendered base, and features a pantile roof that has one axial rendered stack and an external wall stack. It has a lobby entry and a three-unit plan, consisting of a single storey with a garret. The front has four bays, with an off-centre half-glazed door flanked by two single two-light windows from the 20th century, and an additional similar window to the left. Inside, the cottage retains chamfered beams with simple stops, an inglenook fireplace in the kitchen, and jowled main studs spaced approximately 8 feet apart on padstones. The building is listed for its group value only.
