Description

This is a thatched cottage, dating to the 17th century, with additions and alterations in the mid-18th century and 19th century. The walls are timber-framed and clad in red brick. The thatched roof is covered with corrugated iron, and has brick tumbled gables, decorative eaves, a single ridge stack, and a small 20th-century dormer. The cottage has a lobby entrance. It is a single-storey building with an attic, and has a four-bay front plus a small 20th-century lean-to on the left side. A plinth runs along the base. The doorway on the left has a segmental head and a partially glazed door. There are two casement windows to the right and a single casement window to the left, all with segmental heads. The ceilings have chamfered beams, and the fireplaces have bressumers. Timber studs are visible in places, beneath the plaster and paint.
