Description

This is a pump built in 1877, made from limestone ashlar and featuring a square plan. It has a low square plinth with rounded stones at each corner, and a high stepped plinth that includes a spout on the west side with a small semi-circular trough below. A plaque above the spout reads: "Erected in memory of a very dear mother by the vicar of this parish for the free use of his parishioners and all wayfarers. A.D. 1877." There are biblical inscriptions on all four sides, and each side has a cusped pointed opening set beneath a finial led gable. The corners are adorned with pinnacles that rise from an ornate band, culminating in a central spire with a finial.
