Description
Saleby Grange is a house built in the late 17th century, with significant alterations and extensions made around 1820. It features colourwashed brick, partly in English bond, and has shallow hipped slate roofs with deeply overhanging eaves and three brick stacks. The building is two stories tall with a five-bay front. The left two bays are an early 19th-century addition and, along with the raised third bay, are taller and have separate roofs. There is a plinth and a first-floor band on the right three bays, while the left two bays are slightly advanced. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a fanlight, framed by a stone architrave and a wooden neo-Georgian style doorcase. To the left of the door are two glazing bar sash windows, and to the right is a similar window along with a pair of French doors. The first floor features five glazing bar sash windows, all of which have cambered brick heads. Inside, the house retains an early 19th-century dogleg stair with slender turned balusters and a wreathed handrail.
