Description
This is a mid-18th century building on the north side of Eastgate. It comprises six bays, originally with a continuous parapet featuring a sunken panel and guilloche scroll relief, though only the remains of this detail are visible on number 91. A moulded cornice runs along the top of the building. The building is three storeys high and rendered, with rusticated quoins; painted quoins are present at number 95. It has six hung sash windows with glazing bars, although the two windows at number 91 are partially obscured by a shop fascia. The ground floor contains early 20th century and modern shop fronts, which are considered unsympathetic to the original character. A central passage leads through the building, and is topped by a blocked rectangular ornamental fanlight. The building forms a group with numbers 57 to 75 (odd), 79 to 103 (odd) and numbers 2 Vickers Lane.
