Description
The White Hart Hotel is a 17th-century hotel that underwent alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a lined stucco exterior and a concrete pantile roof with stone-coped gables, along with two ridge stacks, one of which is panelled. The building has a two-storey, nine-bay front with a rendered plinth and a first-floor band.
On the left side, there is a six-panel door with a bordered overlight, set within a pilastered doorcase that includes roundels and a narrow leaded hood. Adjacent to this is a tripartite glazing bar sash. To the right, a canted single-storey addition features a semi-circular headed central sash with smaller glazing bar sashes at the corners, flanked by single glazing bar sashes. Further to the right, another six-panel door with a plain overlight is topped by a small Tuscan portico with a dentillated segmental headed pediment. Beyond this, there are two additional glazing bar sashes and a 19th-century carriageway. The first floor is adorned with eight glazing bar sashes, and the roof structure includes larch pole clasped purlins.
