Description

Moat Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage ornee with a 20th-century rear extension. It is built of colourwashed brick and features a hipped thatched roof with a decorative ridge and deeply overhanging eaves supported by rustic timber poles. The cottage has a diamond-set brick ridge stack and a facetted end, with a single storey plus attics. The three-bay facetted front has two-light pointed sliding sashes with Y tracery and external shutters. On the right side, there are two planked doors, and on the left, there is another pointed window. The roof includes a smaller pointed dormer window on each side, which is deeply recessed under thatched eyebrows.
