Description

The Lilacs is a mid-18th century house located on the east side of Eastville Road, Toynton St. Peter. Constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, it features a pantile roof, brick coped tumbled gables, and two brick gable stacks. The house is arranged in an L-shape. The main entrance is a 20th-century six-panel door with an overlight, set within a 19th-century stone surround featuring a bracketed hood. This is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above, on the first floor, are three glazing bar sashes, with the central sash being narrower than the others. All windows are set within brick segmental arches. A lions head gutter is present. A lower, two-story brick range extends to the rear, also with a brick-coped tumbled gable.
