Description

The Tower on the Moor is a fragmentary ruin of a tower dating from the 15th century, built by the Cromwells of Tattershall Castle. The structure is primarily made of red brick and was originally four storeys high. The remaining octagonal stair tower stands at 60 feet tall. Although many details have eroded over time, a window opening with a semi-circular head can be seen at the top of the tower, along with some worn stone string courses and clearly visible putlog holes. The north-west stair tower remains relatively intact.
