Description
Gauntlet House is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof with one raised stone coped gable, as well as single gable and ridge stacks. The building has an L-plan layout and stands two storeys plus attics high. The front has three bays, with a first floor band and a wooden modillion eaves cornice. The central entrance is a 20th-century door with a plain overlight, set within a 19th-century wood pilastered surround that has a dentillated cornice. On either side of the door are single canted bay windows with plain sashes and dentillated cornices. The first floor has 20th-century UPVC windows in the original openings, which have segmental heads.
