Description
No. 50 Witham Bank West is a house dating from around 1830, with some minor alterations from the 20th century. It features a stucco exterior and a hipped Westmorland slate roof, which has two rendered wall stacks at the rear.
The building is two storeys high and has a three-bay front. It includes a plinth, a first-floor sill band, and deep overhanging eaves supported by widely spaced paired carved brackets. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with a radiating fanlight, all set within a plain pilastered surround topped by a narrow hood on carved brackets. On either side of the door are single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has three smaller windows of the same style, all with slightly cambered heads. To the right of the entrance is a canted bay window featuring glazing bar sashes and a flat roof, above which are a pair of 20th-century French doors. At the rear, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension with a parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
