Description

There are two gravestones located nine paces south of the porch of the Church of St. Guthlac. They date from 1751 and 1763 and are made of ashlar stone. The first gravestone features a cambered head with an eared and scrolled inscription panel adorned with drapes, and above it is a scrolled cartouche with cherubs and floral swags, inscribed with "memento mori," dedicated to Naomi Porter, who died in 1751. The second gravestone is rectangular and has a segmental-headed inscription panel with a scrolled cherub above, commemorating William Porter, who died in 1763.
