Description
Coupledyke Hall is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which underwent significant alterations around 1804, with further interior remodeling in the 20th century. The building is rendered over brick and features a slate roof with stone coped gables and kneelers, along with two gable and one ridge painted brick stacks. It has a two-storey, four-bay front with a high plinth and a first-floor band.
The entrance is an off-centre 20th-century door with a plain overlight, framed by an early 19th-century pilastered door surround, a dentillated cornice, and a pediment. To the left, there is a tripartite glazing bar sash window and a canted bay window, while to the right, there is another bay window, both topped with flat lead roofs. On the first floor, there are two additional tripartite windows and two glazing bar sashes, all featuring segmental heads.
Coupledyke Hall has medieval origins, with the first mention of the Coppeldyke family recorded in 1250. The house was completely modernised in 1804.
