Description

The gates to Number 96, dating from around 1830, consist of gate piers, a gate, and railings made of cast iron. The structure features a pair of square openwork iron gate piers with rounded tops that contain acanthus designs. The gate itself has baluster verticals and tulip finials, with the stiles displaying open circles. On either side of the gate are splayed screens, which also have baluster uprights and end in wreathed designs. These gates were made by Tuxfords of Boston and are included in the listing for their group value context.
