Description
No. 30 London Road is a house built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a Westmoreland slate roof with stone-coped tumbled gables and two 20th-century brick stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan with a single-storey rear service wing. The front is two storeys high and consists of five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern. It has a short plinth, a first-floor band, and a dentillated wooden eaves course. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with panelled reveals and a pedimented Doric doorcase. This door is flanked by pairs of plain sash windows with brick segmental heads, and there are five similar windows on the first floor.
