Description
No. 96 on London Road is a lodge built around 1830, with extensions added in the late 19th century. It is constructed of yellow brick and features a hipped slate roof with lead dressings and a central panelled ridge stack. The building is single storey with a three-bay front and two-bay sides. The front has a central blocked doorway, flanked by two three-light casement windows. The sides also have two similar windows, all of which have flat splayed brick heads. The eaves are deeply overhanging and adorned with decorative ironwork scrolls, along with interlaced corner and central supports. At the base, there is a low interlaced screen fence with a stone-coped brick plinth, and cast iron railings and supports complete the exterior.
