Description
The drainage scoop wheel and channel north of Deangate House is a 19th-century structure that was originally powered by a belt-driven drainage engine. It is constructed from red brick, cast iron, and wood, with gritstone blocks. The brick walls of the channel are built in both English and header bonds. There is a gritstone mounting block for the cast iron scoop wheel, which features timber paddles. This structure is situated next to a tributary dyke leading to Clay Dike. Deangate House, referenced in the address, is not considered to be of special interest.
