Description
This building, located east of Holland Fen Post Office, was originally a barn that was converted into a public house in the early 19th century and is now used as a store. It dates from the late 18th century and was altered in the early 19th century. The structure is made of red brick laid in English garden wall bond of three, with a pantile roof, brick coped tumbled gables, and a single brick ridge stack.
It is two stories high with a three-bay front. The central bay features a four-panel door with an overlight, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has two similar windows, and all openings have segmental brick heads. Above the central bay, there is a blank recessed semi-circular headed panel in the gable. The side walls are adorned with brick dentillated eaves and pilasters. Originally, there was a three-story maltings and kiln at the rear of the building. Holland Fen Post Office itself is not listed.
