Description
Brookside Farmhouse is a house with a 17th-century wing on the right, which is believed to have been a former outbuilding for a mill located further downstream. The early 19th-century wing is on the left. The 17th-century wing features timber framing with diagonal braces, whitewashed brick and plaster infill, and a plain tile roof. It is 1 and a half storeys tall and has two bays. The front gable end includes three-light barred wooden windows, with a horizontal sash on the lower level and a casement above. There is a painted truss above the windows. To the right side, there is a 18th-century lean-to made of whitewashed brick. The 19th-century wing on the left is constructed of brick, also whitewashed on the front, and has dentil eaves, a 20th-century tile roof, and a rebuilt brick chimney on the left. This wing is three storeys tall and has one and a half bays. The 19th-century windows are barred wooden casements, with a three-light window on the left and a two-light window on the right, situated above a 20th-century door. The ground and first-floor openings feature segmental heads.
