Description
Thatched Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, which has been altered over time. The exterior is roughcast, with timber framing visible in the left bay. The wall surface is irregular and features a bulging plinth. The cottage has a thatched roof with brick chimneys located to the right and between the left bays. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of three bays.
On the ground floor, there is a 2-light wooden window to the left, and two 2-light barred wooden casements with segmental heads to the right. A small 2-light wooden window is set into the thatch on the right side. At the right end, there is a board door with a segmental head, and to the left, there is a later lean-to with another board door. The left gable reveals an exposed queen strut truss. Inside, the cottage features 18th-century spine beams with stop-chamfered edges and old joists, along with original fireplaces, one of which includes a range.
