Description

The Gateway to Garden, dated 1681, is a Grade II* listed structure in a baroque style, which has been moved from its original site. The lower stage features a square-headed doorway set within a rusticated surround, complete with a keystone. It is flanked by rusticated Doric pilasters and consoles on the walls, topped with a cornice. Above this, there is a tall rectangular panel adorned with foliate swags, eagles, and rusticated pilasters that have coruncopia buttresses. At the top, a shallow flat-headed pediment displays an urn.
