Description
The White House is a cottage that was built in 1480 and restored in 1915. It features greystone rubble on the ground floor, with render above. The original rubble gable walls are still visible, indicating that the house has been significantly raised and now stands at two storeys. The layout consists of a two-unit plan with gable end stacks, and the doorway is slightly off centre. The casement windows likely date from the 1915 restoration. This cottage appears to be the only rubble or stone-built house in the parish and, due to its location next to narrow fields along the road, resembles an early squatter's cottage.
