Description
The Slaughterhouse, located 25 metres southeast of Holygate Lodge, is a mid-19th century building that now serves as a workshop. It features a timber frame with brick nogging and a concrete tile roof. The structure is single storey and consists of a single bay. The windows include both single and double unglazed casements with shutters, each having a lozenge-shaped cutout. On the north side, there is a central gabled porch with a four-centred arched doorway and a weatherstripped plank door, flanked by a single casement on each side. Beyond this, there is a single two-light casement. Each gable end is adorned with a two-light casement, while the south side has two two-light casements. This building is one of the detached outbuildings of Stapleford Park and was historically used for the slaughter of deer.
