Description
The Venison Larder, located 5 meters south of Holygate Lodge, is a mid-19th century timber-framed structure with brick nogging and thatched roofs, now used as a store. It has a single-storey, octagonal plan. The windows feature two-light Tudor arched wooden casements that are covered with metal mesh. To the north, there is a gabled porch with a four-centred arched doorway, a weatherstripped plank door, and ornate hinges. The porch gable is decorated with an ornate bargeboard. There are windows on each side of the porch and on the remaining sides of the building. Above the porch is an octagonal lantern with small glazed double lancets and a conical roof topped with a wooden finial. Inside, the windows have shutters. This building is one of the detached outbuildings associated with Stapleford Park.
