Description

Nos 90 and 92 on Main Street are a house dating from the 17th century, remodelled in 1713, with 20th-century alterations. The building is timber-framed and rendered, with gable end walls made of red brick in Flemish garden wall bond, and a pantile roof featuring brick ridges and internal stacks. It is designed in an L shape and has two storeys with a three-window range.

The main range includes a three-light casement window on the ground floor to the left, a French window to the right, a two-light sliding sash window on the first floor to the left, and a three-light window on the first floor to the right with a central sliding light. The projecting wing on the far right has a 12-panel door on the left side near the angle with the main range, set in an open timber trellis porch, and a horned tripartite sash window on the ground floor. The gable end wall of the wing facing the street features a 19th-century horned sash window on the first floor with a segmental-arched head.

The gables are capped with brick, and the brickwork of the left gable end is painted, displaying a datestone inscribed with S/G1/1713. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a winder stair.
