Description

The barn at the Old Hall is a structure likely built in the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish garden wall bond and features a pantile roof. The barn consists of five bays and has a central cart opening that has been blocked with brickwork. This opening has been replaced by a smaller plank door with a round-arched head. To the right of this door is a stable door with a brick lintel, and further to the right is a 20th-century window with a concrete lintel. The barn also includes two tiers of half-brick air vents arranged in lozenges and has brick dentilled eaves. Inside, the roof is supported by tie beam collar trusses and features one tier of wind-braced purlins.
