Description

The Manor House is a manor house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed and squared ironstone and brick, featuring limestone ashlar dressings and a Collyweston slate mansard roof. The building has a plinth, rusticated quoins, a first-floor band, cove-moulded eaves, and a large central arched brick stack.

The south front has a square plan and consists of five bays over two storeys plus attics. It features a central porch with Doric columns, a panelled frieze, a dentillated cornice, a plain keystoned ashlar doorcase, and a half-glazed 19th-century door with an overlight. Flanking the porch are two glazing bar sashes on each side, and above are five more glazing bar sashes, all with projecting keystoned architraves. There are three hipped dormers above, each with a two-light casement. To the right of the main façade is a 19th-century lean-to addition, and to the left is an early 20th-century stable range with a ramped coped wall.

The rear elevation features a central low-pitched gabled porch from the 19th century, which has a six-panelled door and an overlight above. To the right of the porch is a glazing bar sash, and to the left is a blocked opening. Above the porch, there is a central glazing bar sash and three 20th-century hipped dormers. To the right, there is an early 20th-century single-storey stable range with eight bays, and to the left is a set-back 19th-century lean-to addition with a casement and door, both having segmental heads, along with a close-boarded door. The west side has a glazing bar sash on each floor and a hipped dormer above, while the east side has similar fenestration, but in reverse.
