Description
Cherrytrees is a house located on Barkestone Lane in Redmile, dating from the mid-18th century and around 1800, with some alterations. The building is constructed of rendered brick, with sections of red brick and stone, and features roofs made of Welsh slate and tiles, including some 'Bottesford blues', along with rendered and brick end stacks. The main structure has rear wings and is two storeys high with an attic. It has a three-window range consisting of 8/8 sash windows, with a 6/6 sash window in the center. The entrance features a late 20th-century Georgian style doorcase with a part-glazed door and an overlight. There are 20th-century attic windows on the gable ends, and the rear includes various doors and windows, including an old three-light central-opening casement. Inside, there are spine beams, and the attic contains two original door frames, although the roof is likely from the 19th or 20th century. A stick baluster staircase leads from the first floor to the attic, and there is a dairy with thrawls.
